Where Were You? is a longstanding project by Rob Walker, in which he records "where he was" when learned of various high-profile deaths, along with any notable thoughts about the deceased. The present volume records all such notations relating to noteworthy passings in 2009. The result is a kind of memoir via obituary -- a life in death.
